City Newsstand & Local Artists Give You The Gift of Holiday Memories
Thanksgiving Saturday, November 26, 1p – 3p, City Newsstand, 4018 N. Cicero Ave. in Chicago, will host its 2nd annual Winter Wonderland celebration on Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country, was founded by American Express in 2010 to help small businesses, the lifeblood of cultural and economic development, thrive.
City Newsstand, in the heart of Portage Park and home to the world’s largest inventory of magazines, will welcome the young and the young at heart to kick off this holiday season. Everyone is invited to enjoy live music performances, storytelling, hot cocoa, marshmallow roasting, face-painting, homemade truffles, excellent coffee, hot cocoa, caroling, and Mrs. Santa who will meet neighborhood children to learn their holiday wish lists.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy the talent of popular Northwest Side performing and literary artists; Stann Champion, Erika Doyle, Marianne & The Imaginary Band, Kathy O’Neill, Jerry Pendergast, Mark Piekarz, and Dale Tippett, Jr. Special guests include Pastor Katherine Paisley & Music Director Jonathan Braun from Irving Park United Methodist Church and Belding Elementary Junior Girl Scouts.
