“Stann Champion, Profile of a Chicago Musician” premiers this Monday, June 2, 2014 9pm on CAN-TV Channel 19 (Comcast-RCN-Wow). 2014 Elixir Strings Artist, Stann Champion is profiled representing Chicago in a video produced by Reno Levinson and Tomm A.
As a product of Chicago Public Schools, Stann’s first large audience was at his High School Talent Show. “After graduating from college, I began to produce street performances on Chicago’s north side when approached to work with Bob Marley at “Tuff-Gong Studios” in Jamaica” in 1980. From there I got opportunities to record at legendary Chicago studios like, Jerry Butler’s, Curtom, Universal, P.S., Paragon, Streeterville, Delmark and CRC”.
CAN-TV is proud to feature Stann, who has shared his gift with the inner community of Chicago at hospitals, schools, churches while getting radio airplay regionally, nationally and internationally. “I had no idea I would go from entertaining for my folks when company came to visit to Artist as Entrepreneur while making my family and community proud.
