02 Apr Frank Styburski Shows New Photographs at brewbrew coffee Lounge
Northwest side neighbor, photographer Frank Styburski will be on hand April 25 to meet fellow art lovers at a reception at BrewBrew Coffee Lounge. Part of a two month showcase of Styburski’s work at the popular Avondale venue, the reception will give patrons a chance to meet the photographer and reevaluate intriguing images that sometimes get lost amid the clutter of busy environments.
“Much of my work is done in Chicago’s streets, where millions of my neighbors look at the same things that I do,” Styburski says. “I try to see through the static by isolating the elements of a situation that are interesting, intriguing, or beautiful and by simplifying their context.”
Styburski’s passion for finding art in everyday places is an easy match for BrewBrew, which has a commitment to community involvement. In addition to offering coffee, sandwiches, and conversation, the venue strives to be a comfortable spot where the immeasurable worth of art becomes accessible to a broader community.
Styburski has exibited his pictures recently at Harold Washington Library Center, The Polish Museum of America, Highland Park Village Hall, and Art On the Eighth- sponsored by The City of Elgin, Illinois. His work is on display at BrewBrew, now through May 31. He will be greeting visitors with coffee and conversation on April 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. BrewBrew is located at 3832 W. Diversey Avenue.
