Come and experience the rich history of jazz in Chicago. Jack Cassidy (keys/trumpet) and Wes John (guitar/sax) will perform tunes made famous by artists ranging from Louis Armstrong to Benny Goodman to Von Freeman. From the roaring twenties to the Austin High Gang to Chicago’s famed Jazz Festival… songs, styles, stories and anecdotes from throughout the ages will be shared and discussed.
This program is presented as part of One Book, One Chicago 2015-2016 season. This event is presented in partnership with theTalking Book Center and The Old Town School of Folk Music.
