Poster for art exhibit Portraits of the Northwest Side

A Northwest Side professional artist calls the Portraits of the Northwest Side exhibit “an expression of our area’s identity as defined by talented artists who call it home.” The show is too big for a single venue; part of it is at the library, and part is a block away at the Perkolator coffee house.

Both shows are hosted by A Shot of Art at Perkolator

Portraits of the Northwest Side (part 2)

This art show featuring 9 photographers is currently on exhibit and will continue through June 29th in the library’s 2nd floor gallery.  Meet the artists Saturday, April 16th 2:00-4:00 pm

Portraits of the Northwest Side (part 1) features works in various media and is on exhibit just a block away at Perkolator, 6032 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago. Meet the artists Sunday, April 17th, 2:00-4:00 pm and enjoy coffee and a treat.

Diana Nielsen collages

The work of collage artist Diana Nielsen is currently on display in the display cases just inside the library’s entrance. You can enjoy it through June 30th. I’ve seen photos of the artist’s collages, and find them interesting and witty. I will be stopping by the library soon to see the originals.
