09 Oct Thank You, Avondale Neighborhood Association!
We love the Avondale Neighborhood Association, co-presenters of the Moods + Foods performance series.
Founded in 2010, ANA is a group of volunteers working to create a safe and vibrant community in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago.
It describes itself as “a non-profit, non-partisan organization that represents the common interest of the community members with regard to community development, preservation of diversity, enhancement of quality of life, and safety.”
They are actively involved in neighborhood clean-ups, neighborhood socials, creating community murals, attending zoning meetings, taking irresponsible liquor stores to the city, and organizing art walks.
In addition to Moods + Foods, Northwest Arts Connection partners with them to organize the annual Avondale Restaurant Crawl. We’re looking forward to joining forces with ANA once again for next June’s event.
Interested in attending an ANA meeting? Meetings are held every month on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7pm. Join them at the St Hyacinth Basilica’s Resurrection Hall, the classrooms on the first floor of the westernmost building next to the Basilica. 3636 W Wolfram St. The parking lot is accessible from George St. They look forward to seeing you there!
