The Art Spot Box project is a collaboration between the Northwest Arts Connection and the North River Commission’s Arts Committee. The project was conceived by artist and curator Colette Wright Adams in collaboration with NAC’s own Enrique Morales. The Art Spot Box provides access to public art through a partnership between artists and businesses in various communities throughout Chicago. It is a re-imagination of exhibition space, bridging the traditional white box gallery, museums, and online art platforms, formatted to ease public access to fine art and encourage informal dialogue and conversation about the art on display.

The boxes would be similar in design and construction and would face the street, allowing the public to view the artwork. The first Around the Corner show was really emotional for me because I had multiple people come up to me and give me support.
